Jeffrey Brookner has called Bridgewater home since 1999. Since 2010, he has owned his own law firm in Bridgewater, representing individuals and small companies in a wide range of business-related matters. He treats each case as an opportunity to solve a problem, or better yet avoid a problem before it develops. He will bring this same proactive attitude to the mayor’s office.

Jeffrey has served the community for the past 12 years as a member of the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education, including 3 years as Board president. He has served at least one year on every committee of the Board, including repeated stints on both the Finance Committee and the Union Negotiations Team. Jeffrey has been a strong proponent of governing transparently and of bringing a wide array of stakeholders into all major decisions.

Jeffrey is also an active member of the Somerset County Business Partnership, the local affiliate of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. He currently sits on the Board of Directors, and is chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee. In these roles, he has established positive relationships with countless municipal, county, and state elected officials on both sides of the aisle.

The Supreme Court of New Jersey recently appointed Jeffrey to the District XIII Ethics Committee, which investigates and prosecutes ethics grievances against attorneys in Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties. This honor reflects Jeffrey’s commitment to honesty and integrity in the practice of law.

Jeffrey and his wife Carrie are the proud parents of two children. Their son graduated from BRHS in 2015 and is currently a senior at Yale University. Their daughter is a junior at BRHS.
